Godrej Properties Ltd has made a significant strategic move by winning a bid to acquire a 7.82-acre land parcel in Kukatpally (KPHB), Hyderabad, for a substantial sum of nearly Rs 550 crore. This acquisition, secured through an e-auction conducted by the Telangana Housing Board (TGHB), marks a major expansion for the renowned real estate developer in one of India’s most dynamic and rapidly growing property markets.
The company emerged as the highest bidder with a total combined bid value of Rs 547.75 crore. This prime land, strategically located in Kukatpally, is close to HITEC City, Hyderabad’s bustling IT corridor and a major employment hub. This advantageous location positions the upcoming housing project to cater to the burgeoning demand for high-quality residential spaces in the region.
Godrej Properties plans to develop a premium housing project on this newly acquired land, with an estimated revenue potential of a staggering Rs 3,800 crore. This ambitious projection underscores the company’s confidence in the Hyderabad real estate market and its commitment to delivering future-ready developments.
The acquisition also reinforces Godrej Properties’ existing footprint in Hyderabad, building on the success of its recent launches like Godrej Madison Avenue at Kokapet and Godrej Regal Pavilion at Rajendra nagar. Kukatpally itself is recognized as an established and resilient residential corridor, boasting a robust social ecosystem with reputable educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and thriving retail and commercial centers.
The Telangana Housing Board will proceed with the official allotment letter after completing the due process. This land sale, alongside other initiatives, is set to contribute to the state government’s housing schemes for economically weaker sections. This move by Godrej Properties is expected to further invigorate the Hyderabad real estate sector, promising premium housing options and reflecting the continued growth trajectory of the city.
